During the tempering process, the glass is subjected to thermal shock: the product is rapidly cooled from a temperature of about 600°. This rapid change in temperature compresses the surface molecules so that the glass acquires much greater resistance to thermal and mechanical shock. Bormioli Rocco tempered glass is 2.5 times more resistant than ordinary annealed glass and guarantees a very high level of reliability.
