Product Overview
|
The Covidien Polysorb™ SL-5687 Absorbable Suture is a coated, braided synthetic surgical suture engineered for reliable soft-tissue approximation and ligation where an absorbable suture is appropriate. This configuration features a 5-0 undyed braided suture, 18" (45 cm) length, attached to a P-13 13 mm Premium Reverse Cutting needle with a 3/8-circle curvature. Each box contains 36 sterile sutures. Polysorb™ sutures are manufactured from Lactomer™ glycolide/lactide copolymer, a synthetic polyester composed of glycolide and lactide. The braided suture is coated with a combination of glycolide/caprolactone copolymer and calcium stearoyl lactylate to support smooth handling, reliable knot performance and controlled passage through tissue. Polysorb™ is intended for soft-tissue approximation or ligation, including ophthalmic surgery, when the use of an absorbable suture is appropriate. Polysorb™ sutures should not be used in cardiovascular or neural tissue. |
