Overview
Injectables 50% Dextrose Injection is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, aqueous solution of dextrose in water for injection. Dextrose, USP is a hexose sugar polymer that is a source of energy for body tissues. The solution is intended for intravenous administration. The solution provides a source of water and electrolytes, and may be administered by the intravenous route to patients with fluid and electrolyte depletion.

50% Dextrose Injection Concentrated Dextrose for Intravenous Administration. Each mL of fluid contains 0.5g dextrose, hydrous which delivers 3.4 kcal/gram. The solution has an osmolarity of 2.53 mosmol/mL (calc.), a pH of 4.2 (3.2 to 6.5) any may contain sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment.
