1. Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
If you request information, products, or services through Linen Plus website, you may be asked to provide personal information. For example, you need to register for an account with us if you want to purchase a Linen Plus product online. When you register, Linen Plus will ask for your name and contact details, as well as a username and password that you will use to log in during future visits. You may also want to provide credit card information to pay for items you order online in the future.
We collect this information to enable us to set up your account, process your orders, and supply any items you purchase. In some cases, this involves sharing your information with a third-party service provider (an agent or contractor) for the purpose of fulfilling your order and providing you with the information, products or services you have requested. Should third party or contract persons be involved in Linen Plus business activities that require viewing, processing, or otherwise accessing individual personal information, those persons will be bound by agreements to maintain the privacy of Linen Plus customers.
An example of such sharing is when Linen Plus transmits credit card clearing information to a third-party service provider for the purposes of charging or refunding credit cards of Linen Plus customers. The information transferred during this business operation is transmitted using a secure link employing industry-standard security protocols. Only the credit card number, such information as is required to verify the validity of the credit card number, and the transaction amount is transmitted.
In addition to managing your account and maintaining responsible commercial relations with you, Linen Plus collects, uses and discloses your personal information for the following purposes:
To complete a transaction when you have requested our products or services (credit card numbers are used only for payment processing and fraud protection);
To understand and respond to our customers' needs and requests;
To communicate with you generally and manage our relationship with you;
To recommend Linen Plus products and services that we believe will be of interest to you;
To process and keep track of orders and transactions, and to report back to you;
To train our staff to efficiently fill orders and otherwise respond to web requests;
To prevent or investigate a breach of contract, a data security breach, a violation of Linen Plus Inc. policies and procedures, or a suspected or confirmed contravention of the law; and
To meet legal and regulatory requirements.
However, we will not send any communications to you without either your express or implied consent.
If you wish, you can contact us or otherwise communicate with us at any time if you no longer want your personal information to be used for marketing and promotional purposes by emailing us at [email protected]
The personal information you provide through our site is never disclosed to third parties (other than our trusted service providers) without your consent. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to other organizations or companies without your explicit consent.
Note that commercial customer data is transferred by Linen Plus to secure servers in Canada for improved efficiencies. Linen Plus continues to have exclusive control over such data, however, where any personal information is stored or processed outside of Canada, it is subject to the laws of that foreign jurisdiction and may be accessible to that jurisdiction’s governments, courts, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies which do not always provide the same level of protection for personal information as under Canadian privacy legislation.
